Easter Crafts

  • by

It has been a while since we last arranged an activities morning but a little time off work and some wonderful help spurred us into action. We spent a lovely morning making paper flowers, decorating eggs, creating bug hotels and building bird boxes at the community Pavilion Café. The café opened as usual and provided a selection of drinks and home-baked goodies whilst families spent time creating and talking together. Children were provided with refreshments free of charge with Easter biscuits and cupcakes available. We had a range of ages from babies to 10 years but the crafts provided good entertainment for the adults as well who demonstrated that you are never too old to try something new. Bird box kits were pre-cut by the lovely Lesley from the remnants of her new oak floor (!) and we collected old tin cans to make the bug hotels. Having experimented with a number of different flower designs to find the most effective and doable we settled on crocuses, roses, hyacinths and daisies. We think that they look marvellous.

There are some really talented crafters amongst our children.

Hopefully we will be organising similar events in the future so watch this space.
